My name is John. I'm a Bible Geek and a writer. I'm married to Laurin, the most beautiful of God's creations. Together, we are the proud parents of an amazing little boy named Jonah. There's a good chance I'm changing a diaper right now.

I love Jesus, and I'm blessed to earn a living in words—writing them, editing them, rearranging them, and sometimes staring at them so long they lose all meaning. I am the author of Manger King: Meditations on Christmas and the Gospel of Hope (Discovery House, 2015) and Broken Vows: Divorce and the Goodness of God (Cruciform Press, 2013).

This blog is a place for me to dip my toes in the water when an idea for a larger project comes to mind, to write about things for which there is no other outlet, and to share what God is doing in my life. You'll find posts related to current events—usually at the intersection of Christianity and culture—as well as thoughts on the church, a range of biblical and theological issues, and what it means to be a writer and a follower of Jesus.
